DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC WORKS / FLEET MANAGEMENT DIVISION
LOCATION: 3505 DRIES LANE, PEORIA, ILLINOIS
HOURS: 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. (Midnight)
This position may be subject to state or federal standards requiring COVID vaccination or testing.Diagnoses malfunctions of mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical nature; effects repairs.
High School diploma/GED supplemented by successful completion of a recognized motor and equipment mechanic apprenticeship program; and experience as an equipment or automotive mechanic. Welding and small engine knowledge beneficial. Valid driver's license required. Must be able to obtain necessary hand tools required by a skilled motor and equipment mechanic. Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the knowledge, abilities and skills of the position.
Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and standard practices of the motor and equipment mechanic's grade.
Knowledge of the principles of operation of internal combustion engines.
