Overview

Expected pay for this position is $32.87 - $38.66/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Accommodation (ADA) Specialist will provide direct support to individuals with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA Specialist will conduct disability eligibility analyses, participate in the interactive process with individuals seeking accommodation, and partner with legal to deliver up-to-date education and guidance. This role will also assist with EEOC/Human Rights charges, in addition to managing the religious exemption requests handled through HR. Collaboration with Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, Leave of Absence Specialists, Employee Relations Specialists, and leaders is a must to ensure standardization and compliance. Works independently and collaboratively, responsible for providing counsel, education and expertise to facilitate compliance with employment law, ADA and related federal, state, and local regulations and OSF policy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience: 2 years related experience in order to gain in-depth knowledge of employee relations, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and HR transactional and operational functions.

Other Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ADA regulations, guidelines and standards applicable to a workplace setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and related Federal and State privacy laws and regulations.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensure/Certification: Human Resources certification
