Job Description

Position Summary:
Must be enrolled as a studnet at Methodist College.

Maintain the Center for Student Success (CSS) during evening hours.Responsible for assisting and guiding students who utilize the CSS through one-on-one and group tutoring sessions.

Qualifications:
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Driver's License Valid driver*s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. upon hire.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience in tutoring or teaching preferred. AndExperience in Anatomy and Physiology (I &II), APA guidelines, and basic math skills. AndAbility to maintain confidentiality according to FERPA guidelines and MC guidelines

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Must have effective oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with faculty and students; ability to interact effectively and courteously with culturally diverse groupsBasic level computer skills, including experience with Sakai and MS Word programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Key AccountabilityConducts study workshops/educational sessions as needed to facilitate the understanding of core coursesAccountable for tracking student visits and entering data in a timely manner.Maintains current knowledge and application of writing according to the APA writing style requirements.Provides APA tutoring, writing reviews, and other activities designed to help students with academic and professional writing.Collaborates with the Director and the Nursing Coordinator to ensure student and faculty needs are being addressed accurately.Maintains the security and cleanliness of the CSS and monitors student use of the facilities.Other duties as assigned or required.
