General Statement of Responsibilities: Responsible for assuring that all parts manufactured throughout the plant meet specific requirements. Also checks process capability to assure that is correctly set and is capable to produce per specifications with a focus on reducing rejected material/product.

Essential Duties (Other duties may be assigned as necessary):

  • Evaluates production set aside by operator to determine if it is accepted, screened, reworked, or scrapped.
  • Checks samples of production parts to ensure that the operator interpreted quality and part specifications properly.
  • Notifies operators and supervisors of defects and secures corrective action from supervision if necessary.
  • Samples production to determine if it is to be accepted, reworked, or scrapped.
  • Determines machine or inspection equipment capability as required by supervision.
  • Checks gauge set-up operators to determine their accuracy and report any discrepancies to the operator and the supervisor.
  • Makes gauge set-ups as required.
  • Conducts inspection of incoming raw material and assists in initiating "Complaints of Rejection" reports as required.
  • Communicates with supervisors and managers quality problems and continuous improvement programs.
  • Provides assistance to the Engineering department in improving processes.
  • Leads scrap reduction or quality improvement team and reports on results.
  • Assists in maintaining the Quality System requirements.
  • Conducts internal Quality System audits.
  • Support the Plant quality systems goals/improvements & productivity goals/improvements within the scope of the job.
  • Support the Plant safety programs/goals within the scope of the job.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Compliance to applicable Company, Corporate, State, and Federal regulations.

Education/Experience: High School graduate; (Technical) Associate Degree preferred. One year minimum experience in manufacturing. Able to use Statistical Process Control, Spreadsheet & Word Processing software on a personal computer. Able to read, interpret, and understand engineering/technical drawings.
